HVAC & Mechanical Services

Flow, pressure and temperature instrumentation for chilled water, hot water, condenser water and air-side systems — accurate measurement for balancing, commissioning and fault diagnosis.

Measurement across the HVAC plant

Mechanical services engineers need reliable flow and pressure data at every major circuit — from the chiller primary loop down to individual fan coil unit connections. Accurate measurement supports commissioning, proves design flow rates, enables predictive maintenance, and provides the data for energy performance contracting.

Chilled water circuits

  • Flow measurement at primary and secondary pumps
  • ΔT across the evaporator and coils
  • BTU metering at AHU connections
  • Pump DP for variable speed control

Heating circuits

  • LPHW flow on boiler primary
  • Flow and ΔT for BTU billing
  • Heat interface unit metering
  • Steam flow on distribution mains

Condenser water

  • Flow rate at cooling tower feed
  • Entering and leaving water temperature
  • Condenser water DP across heat exchangers
  • Make-up water flow metering

Air-side systems

  • Supply air duct static pressure
  • AHU filter differential pressure
  • Coil entering/leaving air temperature
  • Mixed air CO₂ for DCV control

Output Signals

4–20 mAModbus RTUPulseHART 70–10 V

Key Standards

  • CIBSE Commissioning Codes
  • ASHRAE Guideline 14
  • EN 1434 (heat meters)
  • PN16 / PN40 pressure rating
  • IP67/IP68 field housings

Commissioning and balancing

The AG-UFM-200 clamp-on ultrasonic meter is widely used on HVAC commissioning projects where permanent meters are not installed — verifying design flow rates and identifying imbalanced circuits without pipe modification. For permanent sub-metering at AHU and chiller connections, the AG-EMF-100 electromagnetic meter provides the long-term accuracy needed for energy performance reporting.

BTU metering for energy contracts

Energy performance contracts and district cooling billing require MID-certified BTU meters. The AG-UHM-100 ultrasonic heat meter carries MID Class 2 certification and supports both Modbus RTU for BMS integration and M-Bus for utility billing data concentrators — one device covering both use cases.
